JAZZ WORKSHOPS
"Using the framework of the skills and attitudes of the jazz player,
Adam helped us to think about leading church worship in a way that was fresh and creative.
A stimulating evening!"
Rev. P Burden, Rector Bathampton Parish, Bath.
What is a hymn? What is Jazz?
What is involved in leading a Jazz group? How do you Improvise?
How do you reinterpret the tradition and communicate it so that it is relevant now?
"For me, the purpose of life is to know God and the struggle of spiritual life will go on as long as I have breath. The pursuit and the music are one." Charles Lloyd, Jazz Saxophonist
Adam's Apple run workshops which use Jazz and improvisation as a metaphor for exploring and discussing the challenges of organisations and the people that lead, worship and live within those organisations.
By exploring aspects of Jazz such as :
- Self Renewal
-Forgiveness
- Groove
- Trust/Faith
-The Community
-Comping
...these workshops explore practically the parallels between life as a jazz musician and a Christian.
Workshops can be adapted to suit your event and can include a concert/performance. Please contact Adam for further details.
